In 1969, years before he became the single most influential martial artist in history, Bruce Lee, who weighed 135 lbs and was 5’7” and wrote this.
"I, Bruce Lee, will be the first highest paid Oriental super star in the United States. In return I will give the most exciting performances and render the best of quality in the capacity of an actor. Starting 1970 I will achieve world fame and from then onward till the end of 1980 I will have in my possession $10,000,000. I will live the way I please and achieve inner harmony and happiness.”
What is that called? (Wait for an answer…) A goal! Bruce Lee set a goal to be rich and famous and he made it!
You can set goals too.
As a martial arts student, your number one goal is to earn your black belt.

- Combo 1: 1-2-Back Leg Round Kick against partner

- Student 1 throws "Step in C1" at partner.
- Partner retreats in good balance executing 1-2 or 3-4 blocks for the punches and 5-6 to block round kick.
2. 1-2-Back Leg Round Kick on pad. Only kick strikes pad. Partner should raise the pad every kick by about half a foot.
35 - 45 Teens and Adults Cool Down
- Form a circle with students facing the center
- Alternating 3 Sets of 10 Push Ups
- 10 Toe Tapper Sit Ups
- 5-Part Stretch

The Importance of Setting Goals
You can also use black belt to achieve other goals in life even if you’re not a black belt yet.
Anything that you want to get good at, you can use black belt as that goal. For instance, maybe your school grades are kind of in he middle with Ds or Cs. That’s kind of like being a green belt at school.
You want to set a goal to get them into Bs and As which is more like being a black belt in school.
You want to become a “black belt” at helping around the house and doing your chores.
You want to be a black belt in everything good in life.
As a martial arts student, setting and achieving goals is essential for success.
